“Khanopies Over Mongolia” team members Gregg & Elisa are skydivers looking to make a little history by arranging the first sport skydives in Mongolia.  Can we pull it off?  Khan’t say for sure just yet, but we have some local friends in our corner helping us make the right connections.  On our way to Mongolia, we will be jumping our way across Europe and Asia at a number of known dropzones along (well, very close to along) our route.  Between us, we have made jumps across the United States, in Colombia, Spain & Argentina and have more than 30 years in the sport.  Both of us hold professional skydiving ratings.

In the summer of 2007, I visited Mongolia and was part of the first dive team to ever dive in Lake Khovsgol, an immense, but little known lake representing some 2% of the Earth’s fresh water.  While in the region for a month, I met many of the local people and became fascinated with their culture, customs and history. I've since wanted to to return and when I heard about the Mongol Rally, I knew this would be the way to do it.  Then throw in the possibility of skydiving at the end of the rally and this trip is just going to be over the top! As the start date approaches, excitement is definitely building.  Khan't wait to GET BACK TO MONGOLIA!

Would be easy to say, “To see the world, to experience other people’s cultures, as well as visit landmarks and make my own.” Although that is true, the real reason is that after being asked I simply said yes. And the more I sit and think about the trip or spend days talking to Gregg the better the idea sounds. Get out in the world and discover it for myself and not on an arranged itinerary, then add in adventure and friendships, and end with raising money for a great charity – and this is turning out to be a life changing adventure.
