The Adventurists   TEAM LIST     spread the epiphany

WE DID IT!!

After 25 days, 12,000kms and 13 countries we arrived in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaan Baatar on Wednesday August the 18th.

Elated, exhausted and more than a bit grotty we powered (or did we stagger?) over the finish line in our poor, abused Nissan Micra.

The whole trip was an amazing experience and just goes to show what you can do in a completely unsuitable vehicle. Apart from one exploded shock absorber, a slightly compressed spring (see how low it is at the back now) the amazing Micra didn't miss a beat.

We have taken this 998cc, front wheel drive MICRA to places where it should not have gone. We made it climb mountains, cross rivers and forced it across the Gobi Desert. Not to mention the roads in Kazakhstan which must be amongst the worst in the world.

You can get an idea of the terrain we've been dealing with by clicking here

After all this abuse the car still managed to raise US$1650 at the finish line which meant we raised over US$3500 (approx £2200) for the charities we have been supporting.

I visited the Christina Noble Children's Foundation in Ulaan Baatar and the work they do to help some seriously unpriviledged kids is stunning. They really do make a difference.

We'd like to thank everyone that helped us on this epic journey of a lifetime. We couldn't have done this without you all and it was fantastic to know so many of you were following our progress via our blog.

Just because our rally is over doesn't mean they don't need more help so please click on the 'DONATE' linkon the left and give whatever you can to this excellent cause...
