The Adventurists
The Compact Pussycat 3

Three lady people (teachers to be precise), one key ring sized van, 10,000 miles.  Sounds about right.

Debbie signed up for this ages ago on a charitable and crazed whim.  Avril and Nic actually thought about it first and decided to join in the ride.  Parking? We'll figure out which one of us can do that at some point.  Maps? Just follow the lines - surely?

It's all for a good cause.....

The Compact Pussycat 3 will be supporting the Children's and Young People's Protection and Development NGO in UlaanBaatar and the fabulous Kids Company, London.

The Finish Line

UlaanBaatar, Mongolia: Well we made it! After 32 days of hardcore driving, camping and general smelliness the ladies arrived in the capital.  Bertha sadly only made it half way across Mongolia before her front right shock rocketed through the suspension spring wrecking her front wheel.... as we sat in the middle of the desert we realsied what amazing friends we had made as they cleared out the 2 Micras of surplus baggage to squeeze in 3 lady sized surplus baggages and their clothes.  4 hours later and Bertha recieved an emotional farewell as she was strapped to the top of a truck and bounced off 120km back to Altay.  The Micras made it with some very grateful passengers. The Compact Pussycat 3 made it 80th on the team arrival board and we found out today that Bertha was sold in Altay for $3000 (more than we paid for her) which will go to the charities here. So the Hijet did good after all.

Thank you for all your support - It's been an amazing journey, with amazing people.

So what's next? We'll see you soon xxxxx

corrugated roads are taking their toll on bertha. Suspension gone, new noise with every bump, which is constantly, steering gone a bit funny. we are very lucky to be in convoy with the micras! Although they lose a tyre every 5 mins! Watching lorries do this road is amazing! Incredible country, mad roads, great people! X

slowly weaving through cows and sheep fast asleep on the roads through the altai mountains. The views are incredible. Slept in a forest by a river with 10 other teams last night complete with campfire. Now in convoy with 2 micras on our way to the mongolia border to get ready to cross tomorrow! 4 nights of camping and no facilities mean we smell. Don't think anyone notices anymore. X @

6am wake up call followed by another 12 hour day. Pleasantly interrupted by lunch with the lovely mongol loons. Amazingly we drove on good roads today! It's been a while! Arrived in almaty and found a nice hotel with hot water! What a day. Off to the pub to celebrate. X

after What seems like years of dessert roads roads we drove through dramatic changes of lush greenery and rivers, back to desert, to mountains. Amazing. But we are tired, long days and not enough rest may be taking their toll. Good nights sleep and we'll carry on... X
